The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection will host a free tire collection event in October.

A statement from the agency said that each person can accept up to 10 tires per race, but the tires must be off the rim and come from a car or light truck. By the end of the month, these events will be held in different communities.

The tires will be in Pleasanz County on October 7th, Putnam County on October 9th, Monongalia County on October 14th, Kanawa County on October 15th, and October 20th Collected in Ridge County and Taylor County. It was in Kanawha County on the 27th and October 30th.

Officials said that in order to limit the spread of COVID-19, people are required to stay in their cars while putting down their tires.
